Meet Annaliese
Meet Annaliese
Award winning makeup artist, Annaliese Thaney, is the owner, creature creator and face artist behind Shade of Face FX.
Her passion for the arts began with her stage debut at the age of two, in Brookfield Central’s production of ‘The King and I.’ The daughter of a high school theatre director and elementary level reading specialist, her imagination was always encouraged to run wild. Annaliese has always had a love for all things theatre – acting in various middle and high school productions, teaching drama classes with the local recreation department, and now designing and applying makeups for all types of events, photoshoots, and productions.
Annaliese holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, where her true passion for special fx makeup developed. After an opportunity to learn from Broadway wig and makeup designer, Dave Bova, and being selected to work as part of the exclusive crew to work with his hand-knotted wigs it was clear – hair and makeup were taking a leading role. Annaliese dove into the world of special fx, working at The Hill Has Eyes haunt, and began to build her skills and portfolio. As time went on, Annaliese was drawn into the world of film and new doors began to open.
Annaliese now collaborates with Wauwatosa West High School’s Award-Winning Trojan Players, international recording artists, photographers, and film makers. Shade of Face FX offers an array of facets including makeup fx, beauty makeup, face painting and fabrication of hand props, head pieces and costume pieces to fit all of your character needs.
Annaliese is always looking to the future and expanding her horizons with new knowledge and creative projects.
